Testing that identifies strengths and support growth

Psychological Assessments

  • Comprehensive Evaluations

Comprehensive psychological evaluations provide clear answers when you or your child are struggling with learning, attention, or emotional challenges. Our assessments help diagnose ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, as well as mood and anxiety disorders. Whether you need clarity for school accommodations, workplace support, or treatment planning, our in-depth evaluations identify strengths and challenges to guide the best path foward.

  • Standardized Testing Evaluations

A standardized testing evaluation provides the documentation needed to secure accommodations for professional and academic exams, such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, and board certification tests. Our comprehensive assessments diagnose conditions like ADHD, dyslexia, processing disorders, and anxiety, ensuring you receive the support you need - such as extended time, separate testing environments, or assistive technology. Our evaluations offer the clarity and evidence required for fair and accessible testing conditions.

Self-pay rate is $3,500 with immediate availability and a 1-month turnaround with your report.

  • Pre-Employment Evaluations

A pre-employment psychological evaluation helps ensure candidates are mentally and emotionally prepared for high-stress roles in law enforcement, firefighting, and other public safety positions. These assessments evaluate emotional stability, decision-making, stress tolerance, and cognitive functioning to determine fitness for duty. Required by many agencies, our evaluations provide objective, evidence-based reports to support hiring decisions and ensure candidates meet the psychological demands of their profession. Our assessment are consistent with POST and IACP recommendations.

  • Brief Academic Evaluations

Our Brief Academic Evaluations provide targeted insights into a child’s learning strengths and challenges. These are only available for the charter & private schools we’ve partnered with. Conducted on-site at the school, these streamlined assessments offer a fast, focused evaluation of cognitive and academic skills, helping educators quickly implement effective interventions. We also observe children in the classroom and playing with their friends. Families receive a very concise report outlining key findings and recommendations, ensuring students get the support they need to thrive in their academic environment. These are not diagnostic in nature.

  • Personality Assessment

Labels such as “narcissistic personality disorder” or “borderline personality disorder” can be used too often in social media or casual conversation to a degree that they lose their clinical meaning. There are excellent assessment measures that can assist us in examining a person’s general personality dimensions, including whether they meet criteria for personality disorders. These assessments can be helpful for people who want to better understand their personality characteristics. We often have therapists refer their clients to us for these assessments to ensure they are not missing a key diagnostic component.

Self-pay rate is $750 with immediate availability and a 1-month turnaround with your report. The assessment will include an initial clinical interview, 1 or 2 assessment measures (i.e., MMPI-3 or MCMI-IV or other measures as clinically relevant), and a structured clinical interview. These assessment can be conducted through telehealth.

These evaluations are sometimes covered by insurance plans; however, our completion time frame may be longer due to prior authorization requirements.

When we refer out to other community providers:

There are a few types of assessments we are not equipped to provide. These include:

  1. Assessments for very young children (under the age of 3). We recommend using Child Find in Nevada or the clinic at Nevada State University for these assessments.

  2. Assessments for aging concerns, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. For these assessments, we recommend that you seek the support of a neurologist to begin a thorough evaluation of any memory concerns.

  3. Assessments to be used in a custody hearing or a forensic setting. We recommend using a provider that works closely with your legal team for these assessments.

  4. Assessments related to medical or physical concerns (e.g., assessments following a traumatic brain injury). We recommend that you seek the services of a neuropsychologist who provides these assessments.

  5. Assessments covered by Nevada Medicaid. At this time, we are not credentialed with Nevada Medicaid. However, Dr. Mihelic is a supervising psychologist at UNLV PRACTICE, a training clinic at UNLV where doctoral students practice their psychological assessment skills. Dr. Mihelic supervises Nevada Medicaid cases through that clinic.
