Shengtian Wu, Ph.D., NCSP, BCBA-D, and LP

Shengtian Wu, Ph.D., has been working with children with and without disabilities across various settings for several years. He graduated from Yanbian University in China, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Wu completed a doctoral degree in school psychology at Mississippi State University, in 2019. He obtained the BCBA-D, NCSP, and licensed psychology credentials and started an assistant professor job in the School Psychology programs at Illinois State University in 2020. 

Wu’s enjoys working with children with anxiety, ADHD, and autism who need support navigating daily challenges, strengthening executive functioning skills, and developing emotional regulation. Dr. Wu specializes in helping children improve attention management, social interactions, and emotional well-being across home, school, and clinical settings.

Dr. Wu brings over five years of experience practicing therapy and has supervised graduate students providing therapy in both school-based and clinic settings, supporting the development of ethical, effective, and child-centered clinical practice. Dr. Wu’s therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based strategies, including behavioral interventions, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and culturally responsive care, to ensure that each child receives individualized support grounded in their unique strengths and needs.

With a background in Applied Behavior Analysis and bilingual school psychology, Dr. Wu is especially attuned to the needs of neurodivergent children and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Dr. Wu’s goal is to help children build practical skills that foster confidence, emotional resilience, independence, and long-term success at school and in everyday life.
