Dr. Taylor Milner

Psychologist

Dr. Milner will be accepting new clients in September 2026!

Dr. Taylor Milner is a postdoctoral trainee and recent graduate of the School Psychology PhD program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She is completing her final year of training at The Thought Loft.

Dr. Milner primarily works with adults and college students in therapy, while her training in school psychology has provided her with extensive experience conducting psychological and psychoeducational assessments with children, adolescents, and adults. Her clinical interests include relationships, identity development and exploration, life transitions and adjustment, anxiety, mood and stress, men’s mental health, and mindfulness. During her postdoctoral training, she is also excited to expand her therapeutic work with children and adolescents.

At the heart of Dr. Milner’s approach is the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important vehicles for change. She strives to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and free from judgment, bringing a warm, genuine, and collaborative presence to the therapy room. She believes therapy works best when clients can show up as they are and have their experiences met with curiosity and understanding. Her approach is grounded in relational and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) frameworks, while incorporating mindfulness-based strategies and multicultural perspectives. She collaborates with clients to better understand their experiences, recognize patterns, and develop skills and perspectives that support the lives they want to build.

Dr. Milner earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNLV in 2018 and began her graduate journey pursuing a Master’s in Education while working as a teacher. Through her experience in education, she developed a particular interest in teacher wellness and in the personal, relational, and systemic factors that influence well-being. This interest ultimately led her to transition into pursuing a PhD in School Psychology, where she gained broad experience across clinical and school settings. Her background in both education and psychology continues to shape the way she understands and supports mental health and well-being across contexts.

Dr. Milner recently completed her doctoral internship at the University of Missouri-Columbia’s Counseling Center, where she received extensive training in individual and group therapy, clinical supervision, crisis intervention, and outreach. Her research has focused on teacher wellness, with her dissertation examining mindfulness-based interventions in teacher training as a way to support educators’ well-being. This work reflects her broader interest in mindfulness, wellness, and helping individuals cultivate greater awareness and connection while navigating demanding environments.

Outside of work, Dr. Milner enjoys spending time with the people she loves, exploring nature, traveling, cooking, and attending concerts and festivals. She is also an avid plant enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her beautiful fur babies!

Dr. Milner is under Dr. Mihelic’s clinical supervision.
